A few of us at work were discussing Obama's seemingly supportive attitude towards the legalization of Marijuana. And the question was brought up; How soon until Amazon Drones start delivering your bag of pot and some McDonalds within 30 minutes from order?

What's the worst part about going to a Wal Mart or McDonalds?

How much would you pay to eliminate that?

That's the answer to your question.

if you live in NYC the weed man comes even quicker than that, and will usually pick you up some munchies. This would really be the ideal method of delivery even in the days of prohibition. I live in Portland maine, stuff is legal now.

Here in Seattle you can't drive a block without passing a dispensary. Little green crosses everywhere.

I'm not convinced that we're looking at the sunrise of pot. Obama's out in '16, and there's always the chance (about 46% from some generic numbers I've seen) that a Republican wins the presidency.

I remember back in '04, my law professor talking about how a Kerry win would be the greenlight for the issue of legalization. Bush winning would set everything back about a decade. If I remember correctly, California and a couple other states legalized the medical marijuana part just before '04. Well, Bush won, and the DEA began clamping down as hard as possible. Fast forward about a decade, and here we are. A Republican win will end legalized marijuana. It's not political hyperbole/commentary, it's a basic fact given the state of the Republican party currently. No Amazon pot delivery, nothing.

Now, if the Republicans run someone who is an actual Libertarian, and not a Tea Party Libertarian, then I'll be wrong. I just don't see that happening.

Incredibly enough, also here in Italy we are talking about the legalization of the weed, and the Region of Piedmont (Turin, FIAT) did pass a request in this sense to our Parliament just today. I really cannot wait to upgrade my cigarette break at work...

It's very strange to walk in to a store and legally buy some buds. Only 30 some places have their papers for 21+ sales right now so the prices kinda reflect that at the moment but as more places open that should come back down.

Since Amazon is now a federal government contractor , they would have to stay out until it's legalized at the federal level.

That would save me the 3 minute drive to my friend's house and the 30 minutes of waiting I have to do for his slow ass to come outside.

NYC? forget McDonalds with your munchies. Get some Platters. (or chicken and rice, or 53rd/6th, or whatever you call it).

Prices here are just a bit over street but considering multitude of options now I gladly pay.

Well, the med folks still get it at well below street and they don't pay the 19% tax. Have retail shops opened in WA yet? I agree the convenience is worth the little extra dough and the choices are fun, rather than getting what ever your boy has on hand.
